2019 Expansion Projects

In 2019 the buffet will be redesigned and the casino will open The District, a new dining venue for Mexican, Chinese, and deli items.

A new hotel tower with 310 guest rooms is planned for the future. A groundbreaking date has not been announced.

With the hotel construction the casino will also enlarge the gaming area by 58,000 square feet and add more space for retail, food and beverages.

A new high-stakes slots room was added and the high-limit table game room was renovated. A poker room with 90 player positions was added.

In 2018 three new dining venues were added. They are located next to the Grand Palms Buffet, which was reduced in size to make room for them. By the end of this year a new restaurant and sports bar will open at the resort.

The nightclub, Club Mezz, opened in July. This is a free nightclub that is open to guests 21 and older. Hours are 11 pm to 2 am every Saturday night. It is located on the third floor inside The Show..

An upscale cigar lounge, Pivat, opened in October offering a humidor and specialty drinks.

Two new bars are open near The Show. One is a sports bar and the other has 21 countertop slot machines.

Agua Caliente Casino opens new Pivat Cigar Lounge

Last month the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa opened the new Pival Cigar Lounge. The lounge offers high end cigars and top shelf whiskey and cocktails.

Guest experience was a major factor in the design of the cigar lounge. The types of cigars, brands of alcohol, and even the furniture were highly thought over.

Located inside the lounge is a large humidor. It is lined with cedar shelves. Also, there are 40 lockers for rent where guests can store their private stock. The lockers rent for $1,500 a year and are available on a first come first served basis.

Prices of the cigars range from $5 to $51. There are around 100 different types of cigars to choose from.

Agua Caliente wins 29 Best Of Gaming Awards

The 2018 Best of Gaming awards have been announced by Casino Player Magazine. 29 of those awards have been given to the Aqua Caliente Casino Resort Spa.

Readers of the magazine were given the opportunity to vote for their favorite North American casino in a variety of different categories.

For 23 years the magazine has been giving the awards. The winners were announced in the September edition of Casino Player.

Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa was voted best of in seven categories. The awards were for Best Casino, Best Hotel, Best Hotel Lobby, Best Suite, Best Carnival Games, and Best Overall Gaming Resort. The resort also won second place for Best Promotions, Best Rooms, and Best Craps.

The Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa was previously awarded AAA Four Diamond property. As well as a Forbes Recommended property. Both facilities are know to locals as offering a variety of gaming, shopping, and dining.

The Spa Resort Casino also was voted a winner. Those awards were for Casino Where You Feel The Luckiest, Best Slot Tournaments, Best VIP Services, Best Roulette, Best Poker Tournaments, Best Table Game Tournaments, and Best High Limit Room. A third place win was awarded for Best Dealers, Best Spa, Best Comps, and Favorite Casino Resort to Vacation at.

Both the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa and the Spa Resort Casino are owned by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. The tribe also own Indian Canyon Golf Resort, Indian Canyon, and Tahquitz Canyon hiking trails.

Agua Caliente is Expanding Across Coachella Valley

January 31, 2018

The plans have been announced. Expansion projects will be taking place at three casino properties that are owned by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. The new projects will be adding hotel room numbers in the hundreds. There will also be even larger casino gaming floors.

The location in Rancho Mirage would add an additional 200,000 square feet. That space would create three hundred ten guest rooms. There are also plans for meeting space and an expanded area for more casino floor.

Currently the environmental impact report is being completed for the expansion project at the Agua Caliente Casino Resort and Spa. This is required to take place before the construction can begin. The public is invited to leave comments on the Rancho Mirage Project. Public comments on concerns for the community will be accepted up until March 02, 2018.

The plans do not stop there. A new gaming venue is also being planned. That will be located in Cathedral City. As well as an expansion for the Spa Resort Casino in Palm Springs.

In Palm Springs, the tribe wants to expand their Agua Caliente Cultural Museum. They also want to add a spa. Plans for the project were announced last October. This will be located over the hot spring owned by the tribe. A gallery of 48,000 square feet will be developed. So will a spa area of 40,000 square feet.

The project is expected to be completed by 2020.

Agua Caliente plan Cathedral City casino

January 24, 2018

Downtown Cathedral City could be the location for a new gaming and entertainment venue. Plans for the project were announced on Tuesday by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians.

The tribe plans to purchase property on the corner of Date Palm Drive and East Palm Canyon Drive. The cost to buy the 12.5 acres is $5.5 million.

This will be the first gaming venue owned by the tribe that will not be located on their reservation. They currently have casinos located in Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage.

For 18 months the tribe and the city held negotiations over the project.

Under the current gaming compact the tribe is allowed to own four casinos and up to 500 gaming machines in each location.
